The process by which we create these sets involves placing eleven copies of every card from 1977 through 2017 in 210 four-row boxes, separated by year, series, and in numerical order. We then pull ten sets of each team and pre-package them to place into storage until one sells.
When a set sells, we take the prepackaged set and place all the graded and sleeved cards into toploaders (Deluxe Packaging only), insert foam for padding, and package it up in a nicely labeled box for shipment. That last process takes about three hours per set to complete, or about six weeks total to package and ship all the completed sets.
As the number of prepackaged sets we have on-hand depletes to two or so per team across the board, we then pull another ten sets of each team after having recharged the pull wall from our graded overstock supply. We also order any individual cards we may be short on, or purchase whole sets to extract specific cards. Occasionally we simply cannot find a card in the proper condition among the sets and lots we purchase. In that event, we hold back prepackeged sets that are incomplete with the exception of one or two cards until we can track them down. That process can take perhaps ten days to two weeks depending on the regional show schedule and how busy other dealers may be.
It takes about four weeks to prepackage ten sets of all 30 teams and about six weeks to recharge the wall. In the meantime, we are always receiving in new cards to grade, sleeve, and sort, placing them in the overflow storage boxes for the next recharge.
If one or two team sets really heat up and we have the cards available, we may pull those teams only to quickly restock, but that would be a rarity since it really messes up the overall system.
As you can see, the best we can do is to pull ten sets of each team about every four months. In reality, it works out to be about 20 of each team per year. We simply do not have the space, supply of high-grade cards, or qualified personnel to package and ship any more beyond that total.
If we are out of a specific team you will have the option to add your email address to the wait list for that team. When we do the next pull, we will notify everyone on the wait list and will sell sets on a first come, first serve basis.
